Our Cat Crew
Petals
Do the names “Bubba, Lila, George, Darla, Emma and June Bug” ring any bells? Petals, and these already adopted sweet babies who called our cafe their foster space, hail from the same 130+ cat colony where their owner passed away in the home. Although a bit on the quiet side,Petals craves human attention with her sweet and delicate meows – she also delights in getting in your way as you go about your daily business LOL. This 2 -1/2 year old Calico girl’s nickname around here is “Petals to the Metal!” for a reason: her favorite hobbies include meowing loudly RIGHT before zipping into rooms Indiana Jones-style milliseconds before the door closes and viewing her loyal human subjects from high atop the cat tree with a smug look on her face. Will you give this sweet Calico her space to blossom?
*Fluffy*
Born to a feral mama in April 2023, Fluffyâs cat mama did a fantastic job of caring for her and her 3 siblings, living a relatively care-free outside life in Red Bluff for a little over a year. February 2024 finds Fluffy learning that the feral outside life is NOT ideal for catsâŠafter an illness living outside in the cold and wet winter, Fluffy started to show signs of having an URI. This URI has permanently affected Fluffyâs lungs â she snuffles and has moments of struggling to breathe. Not only that, her fosterâs vet reports that she is almost 100% blind and upon adoption will be referred to a veterinary ophthalmologist to fully assess her ocular changes. Fluffy will need to be strictly inside only and THE only cat in a household where she has one human to care for her and keep her in kisses and safely tucked inside. Since she is a special needs girl, Fluffy cannot join us at the cafĂ© â we do not want to risk her becoming stressed due to the amount of traffic we have here in the lounge and potentially subjecting her to germs that she may not be able to ward off. Fluffy is the first cat to be part of our Purrivate Pawtners Program where certain cats who canât come to our cafĂ© for a specific reason can be allowed to stay in their foster homes offsite until adopted. We will still showcase her and cats like her on our website and Facebook page but they wonât be physically present here. *If you are interested in a meet and greet with Miss Fluffy, please let us know so that we may arrange a private appointment with her foster, as she is located in our offsite foster space*
Elmo
One of our rescue partnersâ foster homes found Elmo and his sisters Cedar, Cypress, and Villa (who have already been adopter here!) camping out in her garage. Now with his sisters adopter into their forever homes, Elmo is the least sibling standing. This dashing 6-month-old tuxedo is a giant cuddle bug with a unique feature – his lightning bolt shaped tail! As heâs growing bigger, this sweet boy takes his time to survey the scene before joining the cuddle party with his lounge mates, making sure itâs safe for snuggles. He also loves wrestling and playing when he wants to let out his playful spirit.
Loki
Some cats zoom, others boing…then thereâs kittens like Loki, who have specialized in the art of the low-key rumble purr. Not the loud growl of the Mustang or the obnoxious and overly anxious youngster trying to get your attention. This 5-month-old chooses another approach: he prefers a soft purr so unassuming that humans have to touch him to be heard. Pretty clever, Loki! He wants his humans CLOSE where he can savor them and show off his shiny and sleek black fur, slick like a pantherâs. Being held and petted by humans is his paws-down favorite thing, next to nibbling on treats and tossing up the occasional mouse who deserves to be rabbit-kicked. Will you become his next chosen human?
Cinders
What do you do with a box of kittens found on the side of the road off of Highway 32 in Chico? You take them in, love them and make sure they don’t produce any more unwanted kittens who will also be tossed into a box and left to starve. Cinders and her sister BeBe were 2 of 5 kittens gently pulled from this dusty box. They are both all white except Cinders has a big dilute splotch of black on her head and sister BeBe has a few smaller blobs of black on hers. Cinders and BeBe are a little over 4- 1/2 months of age. Cinders wants to be heard the most as she is very vocal and lets you know when she’s not happy LOL. This girl is as rambunctious as they come and sports a startingly loud purr motor. BeBe says she LOVES dogs (her foster mama has a doggo) – her favorite thing is to snuggle as close as possible to said doggo and settle in for a long cuddle sesh. This little lady is an absolute sweetheart. Both girls love to be held, played with and also equally enjoy wrastle time with each other. They are a bonded pair.
Toby
Meet Toby! Some guys are loud, boastful and full of histrionics. Some guys are reserved, modest and identify as wallflowers. Toby is an agreeable combination of the above. He was a sickly yet street-savvy stripey dude trying to survive (most likely busking for handouts) in North Chico when his luck turned for the better – he was rescued by our rescue partner and upon seeing that he was struggling with a nasty respiratory infection, got him treated and placed in a friendly and loving foster home where he had plenty of R&R time to heal. Milo is about 4 -1/2 months old – he is the coolest, self-effacing guy who knows how to turn on the old-school charm: slow blinks, nose nudges, near-silent purrs and calming presence give this boy an old-soul vibe. He is slow to warm up but once he decides to greet you, he will be your best buddy and couch cuddler. Will you show Toby that his struggles have not gone unnoticed and show him a heart as big as his?
Tortuga
Goose
Gotham
Handsome all-black Gotham describes himself as cautiously optimistic. He is generally careful and cautious around humans at first meeting â yes, heâs a young guy with trust issues. He has had to be savvy on the streets where he saw some things and had to be quick on his feet to survive. But heâs open to the low and slow approach to getting to know you. Once you gain his trust, you will have his heart and undying devotion. He will lean his little lean kitty body into you and the more you pet on him the more you stoke his purr machine. Feel like helping yourself to scratching his chin and ears? Please do because he LOVES the attention. He loves to play and if you have a dog, youâre in luck because he also happens to LOVE cat-friendly dogs! Just go slow and youâll have Gothamâs heart forever.
Angel
When you hear the song, âTake me out to the Ball Gameâ it usually conjures up images of hot dogs, beer, baseball and crowded bleachers, NOT images of scared young kittens abandoned and left to their own devices. When a young mother and her children discovered 5 scared kittens on August 29, she reached out to our rescue partner for help. It took some doing but volunteers eventually found them – up a tree hanging on for dear life! With coaxing and some luck , they were transferred to safety. What a ragged bunch – all kittens had ear mites, fleas and icky eyes but after some TLC they have blossomed into quite the playful crew, now named after famous ball parks in homage to their discovery. Angel, who is about 4 months old, is the only girl in this boy-heavy gang. Donât let her name fool you – this orange cutie is a real fireball! She can hold her own with her 3 brothers AND still manage to snuggle up and charm everyone with her sweetness. While slightly shy in her outward appearance, she is quick to get the lay of the land and venture out to make friends.Scratching posts and plenty of toys to keep her busy are a must for this one!
Jensen
Jensen, who is about 4 months old, is the quietest and fluffiest of the bunch. He prefers to sit on the sidelines and observe situations and people before making his move. While snuggling is one of his favorite pastimes, it can take him a bit to rev up his purr. Like his littermates, Jensen appreciates toys of all kinds and swinging from cat trees.
Clark
Sometimes your life starts out rough and then thereâs Clark and his siblingsâ lives – their lives started out behind bars! Cat carrier bars, that is. These 3 were born in a carrier when mama was en route to the veterinarian to be spayed! Mama was a successful TNR catch off of River Road in Chico and weâra happy to report, though, that all siblings have been absolutely thriving in their amazing foster home, where 10-month-old gray and white tuxedo Clark has been practicing his playfulness, patience and ability to turn on the charm. Clark is very independent in nature and adores playing with wand toys and kickers. If you happen to lock eyes with this charmer, look out because this recent graduate from Kitty Charm School will run over, flop on his side and stick his belly out for rubs. He can be found meting hearts and demanding face scratches in the lounge when heâs not tackling a lounge mate or chasing shadows.
Dobbs
Sometimes your life starts out rough and then thereâs Dobbs and his siblingsâ lives – their lives started out behind bars! Cat carrier bars, that is. These 3 were born in a carrier when mama was en route to the veterinarian to be spayed! Mama was a successful TNR catch off of River Road in Chico and weâra happy to report, though, that all siblings have been absolutely thriving in their amazing foster home, where 10-month-old gray tabby Dobbs had a hurdle to overcome in his young life: the eyelashes on his left eye were found to be turned inward after many rounds of weepy eye and vet visits. He recently successfully recovered from Entropion surgery to correct this condition, and got the A-ok from his veterinary team! Safely tucked away in his foster home where he has received the most awesome TLC, Dobbs has discovered that he LOVES to give and receive affection – so much so that he will reach out and wrap his legs around your head when you are trying to love on him (but MOSTLY when you try to clean the litter box) LOL He says he loves to attack your legs or shoes almost as much as he loves toys and strings. He might just attack your heart when you least expect it.
Caitlin
Sometimes your life starts out rough and then thereâs Caitlin’s and her siblingsâ lives – their lives started out behind bars! Cat carrier bars, that is. These 3 were born in a carrier when mama was en route to the veterinarian to be spayed! Mama was a successful TNR catch off of River Road in Chico and weâra happy to report, though, that all siblings have been absolutely thriving in their amazing foster home, where 10-month-old brown tabby Caitlin has been learning how to trust humans and accept pets with grace. Cautious and calm Caitlin is very quiet and chooses to observe situations first prior to joining in on any fun. Although she can be rambunctious at times, she is usually the quiet onlooker who silently judges and holds onto that judgment until she decides youâre ok, then look out. She enjoys pets and appears to be cautiously curious about new items introducedto her. Will you be the human she chooses to open up her heart to? This sweetheart needs patience and time (and love!) to help her adjust in her new home.
Stella..and baby Luna
Mama Stella recently had 2 kittens – 1 passed away shortly thereafter and the other, is pictured here, Luna. Stella is a gorgeous Lynx-Point Siamese âtypeâ ( the âtypeâ because cream/white with Lynx Point colorpoints) with the most startlingly blue eyes youâve ever seen. Even though she is about 3-1/2 years old youâd never know it – she is extremely sweet and affectionate albeit a bit bossy, which is probably due to being a mama to her little, Luna. Luna is a bit over 3 months old and is the cutest fluffiest little bite-sized niblet. She has more of a Siamese appearance than her mom. Luna loves to cuddle, hang out and watch the goings-on in the lounge, pretty mellow for a kitten! Mama Stella and Luna would like a quiet and loving home together with no other cats and no dogs. Will your home -and heart- be the one they belong to?
Adoption Process
First you will make a reservation to meet our adoptable kitties. Adoption fees vary, according to the age of the kitten or cat.
All kitties over 4 months also have had their rabies vaccinations. All kittens have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, received their flea and de-wormer treatments, and basic booster shots.
Your new kitten adoption also includes a beautiful gift basket, a bag of our premium branded cat litter and a starter bag of kitten food. When you visit, let our staff know you are actively looking to adopt.
- Ask for an application - fill it out in its entirety and please donât forget to write in the top which cat you are applying for!
- We will take a photo of the application and text it to that catâs rescue representative.
- The rescue may or may not reach out to you immediately for a phone interview. Some of our rescues respond within the day and some take a little longer. Please be patient.
- We DO NOT have any control over the adoption approval process. All of our rescues operate independently of our business and as such we are completely removed from the adoption process. We will notify you if you have been approved when we are notified ourselves!
- Once we get an all paws up approval, we will be reaching out to you to setup a mutually beneficial day and time to finalize your new furry BFFâs adoption. If you get the ok over the weekend, itâs at our discretion when the cat can go home - this depends on current numbers of cats in the lounge at the moment, as well as events and other things taking place at that time. NOTE: We require our rescue partners to have a replacement cat ready  to come into the lounge once we have an approved adoption to keep cat staffing levels up, so it may be a few days before the process is complete. Please also take note that we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays đ
- When you arrive to bring your new kitty home, please expect to spend about 15 minutes or so with us finalizing your paperwork. BRING A CARRIER, proper payment (cash, Venmo, or check made out to the rescue) and be prepared to fill out an adoption contract. We will go over your catâs adoption folder that contains its medical records and other papers, discuss food and litter requirements and take a photo of your new family for our social media posting.
- Go home and celebrate with kisses and belly rubs!! đ»đââŹ
