Tootsie (currently in foster)

Tootsie is a 1-year-old medium-haired tabby darling with a spark so magical we’re convinced she once slipped through time and served as Toulouse-Lautrec’s secret muse. Just look at that famous painting—the tilt of the head, the dreamy, knowing gaze, the unmistakable je ne sais quoi—the resemblance is so uncanny it feels like she padded straight into 1890s Paris and posed for the master himself. Lautrec may have no direct descendants today, but we won’t tell his extended family that a modern-day tabby has so thoroughly outshined his inspiration.

Tootsie first came to us with her brother Milo, who went on to his fairy-tale forever home with his soulmate Jade (a love story for the ages!), and after his adoption, she blossomed into a radiant little star in her own right—playful, curious, sweet, and bursting with gentle charm. Now in foster care, she’s ready for her second debut: a chance to show her true brilliance to the forever human who sees her for the masterpiece she is. Tootsie greets every adventure with wide eyes and gentle paw taps, chases toys with fearless delight, and melts into laps with a softness that could soothe even the weariest heart.

She is the perfect blend of sugar and spice, whimsy and warmth, artistry and affection—destined for greatness and longing for a home that will adore her as deeply as she already adores the world. If you’ve ever dreamed of adopting a cat who balances sweetness, curiosity, and a touch of Parisian magic, Tootsie is your dream come true—a little muse ready to roll straight into your heart, Tootsie Roll style.

Cheddar (currently in foster)

Cheddar feels like the end of the day.
The quiet moment when everything slows
when the world softens, and all that’s left is warmth.

At nine months old, this orange tabby carries a gentle, tender spirit—one that doesn’t rush into the spotlight, but instead settles in beside you, as if he’s always known that’s where he belongs.

His story began in a field in Chico, found alongside his siblings and their mama—small, uncertain, learning early to be careful in a world that hadn’t yet shown him kindness.

But kindness found him anyway.

In the safety of his foster home, Cheddar began to understand something new: that hands could be gentle, that voices could be soft, that love could be steady and real. And slowly, quietly
he began to lean into it.

He didn’t change all at once.
He unfolded.

Now, Cheddar is the kind of companion who seeks you out in the still moments—the in-between spaces of the day. He’ll curl beside you as if he’s been waiting for exactly that moment, settling in with a softness that feels both grounding and deeply sincere.

His presence is calm.
Steady.
Devoted in a way that doesn’t need to be loud to be felt.

And always, by his side, is Mango.

His brother, his mirror, his quiet counterpart. Together, they create a rhythm—one soft, one watchful
one leaning in, the other following close behind. Their bond is seamless, comforting, and full of an understanding that words could never quite capture.

They were raised with other cats and even a large dog, but Cheddar thrives best in a gentle, relaxed home—one that allows him the space to continue opening, to move at his own pace, and to let his sweetness shine in its own time.

Cheddar and Mango must be adopted together. They are more than companions—they are each other’s sense of safety, each other’s confidence, each other’s home.

And for the one who welcomes them in, Cheddar offers something rare—
a love that is quiet

but unwavering.

Mango (currently in foster)

Mango feels like a pause.
A breath taken before stepping forward. A quiet presence that notices everything
and only then decides to trust it.

At nine months old, this orange tabby carries a tender, thoughtful spirit—one that doesn’t rush, doesn’t demand, but instead takes the world in gently, piece by piece.

His story began in a field in Chico, found as a tiny kitten alongside his siblings and their mama—small, vulnerable, learning early that the world could be uncertain.

But then, it changed.

In the safety of a foster home, Mango began to discover something new: that life could be predictable
 that hands could be kind
that a space could feel soft enough to rest in.

And so, he watched.

Mango is the kind of soul who observes before he joins. He studies the room, the rhythm, the energy—making sure everything feels just right. And when it does
 he steps in. Gently. Fully.

And that’s when you see it—
the melt.

He becomes the sweetest, most trusting companion, leaning into connection in a way that feels quiet but deeply sincere. His presence brings a kind of calm that settles into a home, not loudly—but completely.

By his side is Cheddar—his brother, his anchor, his constant. The one who helps him feel brave, who shows him the way forward. Where Cheddar goes, Mango follows
and where Mango softens, Cheddar stays close. Their bond is effortless, steady, and full of something that feels like understanding.

Together, they create a balance that’s both comforting and whole.

Mango plays softly, explores gently, and carries a warmth that fills a space without ever overwhelming it. Raised around other cats and even a large dog, he thrives in calm, grounded environments—homes that honor his gentle pace and allow him to continue unfolding in his own time.

Mango and Cheddar must be adopted together. They are more than bonded—they are each other’s courage, each other’s calm, each other’s home.

And for the person lucky enough to welcome them in, what they’ll receive is something truly special—
not just companionship

but a quiet kind of love that grows deeper with every passing day.

Gemma (currently in foster)

Gemma feels like a quiet miracle.
The kind you almost miss
until you realize how much she’s already survived.

At just a year and a half old, this buff tabby carries a softness that seems untouched by the life she’s lived—silky fur, gentle eyes, and a presence that settles into a space as if she’s always been meant to be there.

But her story began somewhere harder.

She was found wandering alone along Otterson Drive, near the Comanche Greenway entrance—small, hungry, and doing her best to survive in a world that hadn’t made room for her. Life on the streets asks so much of a cat
and Gemma had been carrying it all on her own.

And then, something shifted.

When her foster reached out, Gemma didn’t hesitate. She walked forward. Hopped into the car. As if, somehow, she knew—
this was her moment.
Her turning point.

From there, everything began to soften. She was spayed that very same day, treated for the stomach issues that came from scavenging just to get by
and through it all, Gemma remained exactly who she is at her core: calm, gentle, quietly grateful.

There’s something about her that feels steady. Grounded. Like she understands, in a way only some animals do, what it means to have come through something
 and arrived somewhere better.

She was named after a passing truck with the word “GEM” painted across its side—a small, fleeting sign that somehow said everything. Because that’s exactly what she is: a hidden treasure, waiting to be seen.

Now, she’s blossoming.

Petite, affectionate, and deeply soulful, Gemma is beginning to lean into the life she was always meant to have—a life of softness, of safety, of quiet companionship. The kind where she doesn’t have to search anymore
 where she can simply be.

Whoever welcomes Gemma home won’t just be giving her a second chance—
they’ll be witnessing something rare.

A gentle heart, choosing to trust again.

Poof (currently in foster)

Poof feels like a tiny spark learning how to glow.
Not all at once
but slowly, bravely, in her own time.

At five months old, this short-haired sweetheart is still unfolding from the life she once knew—found in the wild alongside her sister Floof, small and “hissy-spitty,” doing her best to be tough in a world that asked her to be.

But Poof was never meant to stay guarded.

With patience and love, she’s begun to soften—into something playful, curious, and quietly full of wonder. She wants to trust
you can feel it in the way she watches, the way she leans just a little closer each day, the way she chooses to stay near even when she’s unsure.

Her happiness shows up in the sweetest ways—
a tiny tail that pops straight up and curls over her back like a question mark turned into joy

a gentle head scratch that melts her into a purring, wiggly little noodle

a decision to climb onto the bed, or curl beside you on the couch, as if testing out what it means to belong.

She is brave—but in quiet ways.

Poof learns by watching her sister Floof, her steady guide, her safe place. Where Floof leans in, Poof follows—slowly, thoughtfully—gathering courage one moment at a time. Together, they create a rhythm of growth that feels both tender and strong.

And like her sister, Poof has the softest little voice
or almost-voice. She’ll open her mouth to meow and offer only a silent whisper, and when sound does arrive, it’s a tiny, bird-like squeak—so small, it feels like a secret shared just with you.

She’s playful, observant, and endlessly curious, with a love of food that occasionally brings out a tiny growl at mealtime—a fleeting moment that fades as quickly as it comes, especially when she feels safe and secure.

Poof hasn’t yet been introduced to dogs or children and would do best in a calm, gentle home where she can continue to bloom at her own pace.

She has not yet been triple-tested and must be adopted with her sister Floof. They are a bonded pair—two halves of a story still being written, each one helping the other become who they were always meant to be.

With Poof (and Floof) in your life, you won’t just witness transformation—
you’ll be part of it.

A quiet becoming.
A soft unfolding.
A little spark
 learning how to shine.

Floof (currently in foster)

Floof feels like a whisper you almost miss—
until you realize it’s been beside you all along.

At five months old, this long-haired beauty has already lived two lives. The first, out in the wild—small, wary, “hissy-spitty,” doing what she had to do to stay safe. The second
unfolding now, in softness, in warmth, in the quiet realization that the world can be gentle.

And once she discovered that—she changed almost overnight.

Floof didn’t just adjust
 she blossomed.

She became the kitten who curls into your lap as if she’s always belonged there. The one who follows you from room to room, a silent, feather-soft shadow, never demanding—just wanting to be near. Her presence is calming, steady, like a soft exhale at the end of a long day.

She loves in quiet ways.
In nuzzles.
In closeness.
In simply being there.

And then there’s her voice
or rather, her almost-voice. Floof will open her mouth to meow and offer only the faintest whisper—like a secret meant just for you. Every now and then, when she really wants your attention, a tiny, delicate squeak escapes
so soft it feels like a gift.

By her side is her sister, Poof—her counterpart, her courage, her constant. Where Poof brings playful, spunky energy, Floof brings balance. Together, they create something whole: comfort, confidence, companionship. They lean on each other, move together, grow together.

Floof thrives in gentle spaces—homes filled with soft voices, slow movements, and people who understand that the quietest hearts often hold the deepest love.

She has not yet been triple-tested and must be adopted with her sister Poof. They are a bonded pair, woven together in a way that cannot be separated—each one helping the other feel safe, seen, and home.

With Floof (and Poof) in your life, you won’t just gain companionship—
you’ll gain a kind of softness that changes the entire feeling of a space.

The kind that doesn’t ask for attention

but quietly becomes everything.

Mochi (currently in foster)

Mochi feels like a beginning that refused to stay small.
A quiet spark that grew
 and grew
until it became something impossible to ignore.

Nearly a year old, this gray-and-white tabby carries both elegance and energy in equal measure—long, graceful limbs paired with a spirit that moves boldly through the world, curious and alive. Where some pause, Mochi steps forward. Where uncertainty once lived, something brighter has taken root.

Her story began in the margins—trapped as a feral kitten alongside her sisters Evie and Willow at the High ’n Dry RV Park in Los Molinos. A start shaped by caution, by distance, by the instinct to protect herself from a world she didn’t yet understand.

But Mochi didn’t stay there.

She transformed—slowly, bravely—into a cat who leans into connection with a kind of openness that feels almost sacred. When she trusts you, you’ll feel it immediately. She melts into your hands, into your presence, as if she’s discovering, in real time, that love is something she’s allowed to have.

And yet, she hasn’t lost her spark.

Mochi is playful, energetic, and just a little mischievous—the kind of cat who turns ordinary moments into something alive. Toys are invitations. Spaces are meant to be explored. Life is meant to be experienced.

Sometimes, in the middle of affection, she offers a soft little “love nip”—a gentle, harmless reminder that her heart is still learning how to hold such big feelings. It’s not roughness
 it’s expression. It’s honesty.

She thrives in the company of other cats and continues to grow more confident with each passing day. Mochi hasn’t yet been introduced to dogs or children and would do best in a home that offers patience, understanding, and the space to keep becoming.

Whether she finds her forever home on her own, or alongside Evie or Willow, Mochi brings something rare—
a sense of wonder. A warmth that feels earned. A presence that reminds you that transformation is not only possible
 it’s beautiful to witness.

She is not just ready for a home.
She is ready for a life.

**Note: Chico Cat Café is currently closed and does not have cats onsite. All cats listed on our website (including Mochi) are in foster homes and are available for adoption. Please contact us for all adoption and meet-and-greet inquiries.**

Evie (currently in foster)

Evie feels like movement.
A flicker of light across the floor. A moment of joy that appears, dances, and lingers just long enough to make you smile.

Nearly a year old, this gray-and-white tabby carries herself with quiet grace—but unlike her sister Willow’s stillness, Evie is the spark. The one who steps forward just a little sooner, who reaches out with curiosity, who lets her wonder lead the way.

Her story began in uncertainty—trapped as a feral kitten alongside her sisters Mochi and Willow at the High ’n Dry RV Park in Los Molinos. A beginning shaped by caution, by survival
by learning the world from a distance.

And yet, Evie chose to lean in.

She meets life with a growing sense of bravery, a gentle boldness that shows itself in the smallest, most beautiful ways. A toy becomes a treasure. A shadow becomes a game. Even the simplest object can turn into a moment of delight when Evie is near.

But it’s in her affection that her story truly unfolds.

Because when she leans into your hand—when she melts into full-body rubs, soft and steady—you can feel it. That quiet shift. That bridge between who she once had to be
and who she is now becoming.

Her love feels like a small triumph.
A soft, glowing yes.

Evie thrives in the presence of other cats and continues to grow more confident with each passing day. She has not yet met dogs or children and would do best in a home that offers patience, gentleness, and the space to keep unfolding at her own pace.

Whether she finds her forever home on her own, or alongside Mochi or Willow, Evie brings with her something special—
a lightness. A playfulness. A quiet kind of magic that lives in the everyday.

The kind that reminds you—
that even the most uncertain beginnings can turn into something bright.

**Note: Chico Cat Café is currently closed and does not have cats onsite. All cats listed on our website (including Evie) are in foster homes and are available for adoption. Please contact us for all adoption and meet-and-greet inquiries.**

Willow (currently in foster)

Willow feels like a quiet morning.
Soft light. Still air. Something gentle, just beginning to open.

Nearly a year old, this gray-and-white tabby carries herself with a kind of natural elegance—long, graceful limbs and a presence that doesn’t ask to be noticed, but lingers once it is. There’s a softness to her that isn’t just physical
 it’s something deeper. Something felt.

Her story began in a place the world might have overlooked—trapped as a feral kitten at just four months old alongside her sisters, Mochi and Evie, at the High ’n Dry RV Park in Los Molinos. Life asked her to be cautious, to watch before trusting, to move gently through uncertainty.

And she still does.

Willow doesn’t rush toward you. She arrives slowly—through quiet glances, small steps, soft curiosity. But when she decides you are safe, she leans in. She melts into gentle hands, rolls into soft affection, and offers her trust the way only a sensitive soul can
carefully, sincerely, like something precious being placed in your care.

Her love is not loud.
It’s steady.
It’s real.

She finds joy in simple things—playful moments with toys, the quiet companionship of other cats, the growing confidence that comes with each passing day. She continues to bloom, little by little, becoming braver in a way that feels both tender and profound.

Willow would do best in a calm, peaceful home—one that understands that some hearts open slowly, but deeply. She has not yet been introduced to dogs or children, and would thrive in an environment that honors her gentle rhythm.

Whether she finds her forever home on her own, or alongside one of her beloved sisters, Willow brings with her something rare—
a quiet kind of magic.

The kind that doesn’t fill a room with noise

but changes it completely, just by being there.

Sunny (in foster)

Sunny carries the quiet presence of someone who has lived a life before you ever meet him.

A whiskered wanderer, a streetwise gentleman—he spent his days moving through the world with calm intention, as if he had somewhere to be, even if that place was simply the next patch of sun. You can almost picture it: a soft tip of an invisible fedora, a knowing glance, a life lived just outside the edges of everything.

And now
 he’s inside.

For the first time, Sunny is discovering a different kind of world. One made of soft blankets instead of pavement, of ceiling fans that spin like quiet curiosities overhead, of gentle routines and something called a litter box—which, true to form, he’s learning with remarkable dignity.

Dressed in his signature orange coat, crisp white bib, and four perfect white gloves, Sunny looks as though he’s always been ready for an evening somewhere timeless—a low-lit jazz club, perhaps, where the music hums low and the air feels warm. He doesn’t rush. He doesn’t demand. He simply is.

Easygoing, observant, and quietly confident, Sunny moves through his new life with a soft curiosity—taking it in, piece by piece, as if he’s deciding what to make of all this unexpected comfort. There’s a hint of amusement in him, too
like he can’t quite believe this is his now.

But you can feel it: he’s beginning to understand.
That this could be home.

Sunny has the heart of a street scholar and the soul of something timeless. A companion who doesn’t just fill space, but changes the feeling of it. The kind of presence that settles in beside you, steady and real, like it was always meant to be there.

Whoever welcomes him in won’t just be adopting a cat—
they’ll be sharing their life with a gentleman

one who’s finally ready to stay

**Note: Chico Cat Café is currently closed and does not have cats onsite. All cats listed on our website (including Willow) are in foster homes and are available for adoption. Please contact us for all adoption and meet-and-greet inquiries.**

Alfie (currently in foster)

Alfie arrives like a spark.

At five months old, this black-and-white boy—with his perfectly placed little mustache—carries a kind of brightness that’s impossible to ignore. He doesn’t wait on the edges of a room
he steps right into it, curious, confident, and ready to discover whatever comes next.

Found alongside his brother Colby in a trailer park, Alfie’s story could have gone a different way—but instead, it was softened by kindness. A family took them in, showed them what gentle hands feel like, what safety means
and Alfie took that lesson to heart. He meets the world expecting connection—and more often than not, he finds it.

Playful, talkative, and full of life, Alfie is the kind of kitten who explores first and asks questions later. Every new space is an adventure, every toy a possibility. And yet, just as quickly as he bounds forward, he settles—curling into your lap as though he’s always belonged there, as though you’ve always been his person.

He is the heartbeat of the pair—the brave one, the encourager, the one who gently nudges his quieter brother forward with soft affection and steady presence. Where Alfie goes, Colby follows
and where Colby hesitates, Alfie reassures. Together, they create a balance that feels both joyful and whole.

Alfie has been raised around children, other cats, and gentle, cat-loving dogs, and he thrives in homes filled with energy, kindness, and connection. His spirit brings movement, laughter, and a sense of aliveness to every space he enters.

He is neutered and will be triple-tested prior to adoption.

Alfie must be adopted with his brother Colby. They are more than bonded—they are each other’s anchor, mirror, and constant companion. And together, they don’t just fill a home
 they bring it to life.

**Note: Chico Cat Café is currently closed and does not have cats onsite. All cats listed on our website (including Alfie) are in foster homes and are available for adoption. Please contact us for all adoption and meet-and-greet inquiries.**

Colby (currently in foster)

Colby is a soft hush of a kitten—the kind you don’t fully notice at first, until suddenly he’s there
watching, waiting, quietly deciding that maybe, just maybe, you are safe.

At five months old, this orange-and-white sweetheart carries a gentle, observant spirit. He’s playful and curious in his own quiet way, but unlike his brother, Colby prefers to take in the world from the edges before stepping into it. He is the softer rhythm, the slower unfolding—the one who teaches you that trust is something earned, and therefore, something deeply meaningful.

But when that trust clicks into place, everything changes.
Colby melts.

He becomes the kitten who leans into you, who settles into your lap as if he’s always belonged there, who discovers that affection isn’t something to fear—but something to rest in. His cuddles feel like a reward, a small, tender victory shared between you.

He adores gentle voices, soft toys, and quiet moments. And through it all, he looks to his brother Alfie—his steady, braver counterpart—for reassurance. Together, they move through the world as a pair: one leading, one following, both growing. Their bond is deep, constant, and unmistakable—the kind that turns a house into a shared story.

Colby has been raised around children, other cats, and calm, cat-loving dogs, and he thrives in environments rooted in patience, kindness, and understanding.

He is neutered and will be triple-tested prior to adoption.

Colby must be adopted with Alfie. They are not just brothers—they are each other’s safety, confidence, and home. And together, they don’t just adapt
 they blossom.

Adoption Process

First you will make a reservation to meet our adoptable kitties. Adoption fees vary, according to the age of the kitten or cat.

All kitties over 4 months also have had their rabies vaccinations. All kittens have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, received their flea and de-wormer treatments, and basic booster shots.

Your new kitten adoption also includes a beautiful gift basket, a bag of our premium branded cat litter and a starter bag of kitten food. When you visit, let our staff know you are actively looking to adopt.

When you fall in love with one of our sweet rescues, here is our Adoption Process:
  1. Ask for an application - fill it out in its entirety and please don’t forget to write in the top which cat you are applying for!
  2. We will take a photo of the application and text it to that cat’s rescue representative.
  3. The rescue may or may not reach out to you immediately for a phone interview. Some of our rescues respond within the day and some take a little longer. Please be patient.
  4. We DO NOT have any control over the adoption approval process. All of our rescues operate independently of our business and as such we are completely removed from the adoption process. We will notify you if you have been approved when we are notified ourselves!
  5. Once we get an all paws up approval, we will be reaching out to you to setup a mutually beneficial day and time to finalize your new furry BFF’s adoption. If you get the ok over the weekend, it’s at our discretion when the cat can go home - this depends on current numbers of cats in the lounge at the moment, as well as events and other things taking place at that time. NOTE: We require our rescue partners to have a replacement cat ready  to come into the lounge once we have an approved adoption to keep cat staffing levels up, so it may be a few days before the process is complete. Please also take note that we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays 😊
  6. When you arrive to bring your new kitty home, please expect to spend about 15 minutes or so with us finalizing your paperwork. BRING A CARRIER, proper payment (cash, Venmo, or check made out to the rescue) and be prepared to fill out an adoption contract. We will go over your cat’s adoption folder that contains its medical records and other papers, discuss food and litter requirements and take a photo of your new family for our social media posting.
  7. Go home and celebrate with kisses and belly rubs!! đŸ˜»đŸˆâ€âŹ›
